This story doesn't need the thick fog machine effects or the masks. I found this version very disappointing but I loved the original. If you're just looking for a mediocre horror film and aren't familiar with the original, you might be okay with this one. The only positives for me were: the trucks did make me jump and there is a great bathtub scene (I won't say who or what but the appearance in that scene was done well. ) Overall... meh. Folks are so old school about their thinking of remakes. Well TO ME this was a much needed remake and one I rather enjoyed. The ending left me thinking there MIGHT be a sequel as it's.... well you'll just have to watch it to find out. John Lithgow was wonderful as the neighbor... whole cast was good. Young actress that plays the daughter was just so good. The cat I found out died in real life in May of this year (2019).
